- How does it compare to Remini or MyHeritage?
- Remini and MyHeritage are both face-focused commercial services with very polished mobile apps. Our face reconstruction is comparable; the difference is workflow — we run on the desktop browser, no app install, free for short volume. MyHeritage charges per restore; we charge a small credit on download.
- Will it work on photos where the face is partially missing?
- Partial occlusion (hat brim, hand over mouth) works fine. Outright missing pixels (torn corner, large stain over the face) won't be reconstructed — the tool sharpens what's there, it doesn't hallucinate missing content. For that, try our /tools/remove-object-from-photo with a mask.
- Does it colorize black-and-white?
- Not in the main restore pass — restoration preserves the original tone. Use /tools/colorize-old-photo if you want B&W → color.
