EditClips.online ("the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Each tool can process your files on our servers or entirely in your browser. Our servers are the default. If you switch a tool to In Browser, processing happens on your device using WebAssembly: your files are never uploaded, and we cannot see, access, or store them.
When a tool runs on our servers, your files are uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) and processed on servers we run. Our AI tools also run on our own hardware, not on outside AI services. Your files and their results are deleted automatically after 90 days. Your account shows them for as long as your plan keeps them: 7 days on Free, 30 on Lite, and 90 on Pro and Business. Business accounts can turn on zero retention, which deletes files one hour after a result is downloaded, and at the latest 24 hours after processing. We look at your files only to perform the operation you asked for, or to fix a problem with it.
Nita is a chat that plans and runs edits from what you write. To plan them, it sends your messages and technical details about your files (such as their type, length, size, frame size, and format) to our AI provider, which runs the AI model behind Nita. Your files themselves, their names, their pictures and sound, and details such as where or when they were recorded are never sent. Files you add to a chat are stored in our cloud storage and deleted after 90 days. We keep your chats, and a log of each request (your message, the edit Nita planned, and how long it took), to run Nita and to improve it. Removing a chat hides it from your list; to have your chats deleted, contact us.
When you use the share feature, your processed video is uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) and made publicly accessible via a unique link. Anyone with the link can view the video. In addition:

We collect anonymous usage data when you process files, including the tool used, processing engine (browser or server), whether the operation succeeded or failed, processing duration, file sizes, and your IP address. This data is used to monitor service health, identify broken tools, and improve the Service. It is not linked to your identity unless you are logged in.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, or the name and email address from Google or GitHub if you sign in with them. This information is used to authenticate you, manage your account, and send transactional emails (such as password resets and account notifications). We also send occasional product emails, such as new features and offers, unless you turn them off in your account settings. Every product email has an unsubscribe link.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or other payment method details. Paddle handles all payment processing and may collect additional information as described in their privacy policy.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We show ads through Journey by Mediavine. With your consent, Journey and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to choose ads and to measure them. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it with a consent banner from consentmanager.net. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics for usage statistics such as page views, referral sources, and device type. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Files processed on our servers, and their results, are deleted after 90 days, or sooner with Business zero retention. Files added to Nita chats are deleted after 90 days. Shared files are deleted within 90 days, and their links expire as described above. Processing history records (tool used, file sizes, timestamps) are kept to improve the Service and do not include the content of your files.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
