EditClips.online ("the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
When you use our free tools, all file processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to our servers. We cannot see, access, or store any files you process in browser mode. This is a core principle of the Service.
If you use the server-side processing feature, your files are temporarily uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) for processing. Uploaded files and processing outputs are automatically deleted after 7 days. We do not access, review, or use the content of your files for any purpose other than performing the requested processing operation.
When you use the share feature, your processed video is uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) and made publicly accessible via a unique link. Anyone with the link can view the video. In addition:
You can request removal of a shared video at any time by using the "Report or request removal" link on the share page, or by contacting us at [email protected].
We collect anonymous usage data when you process files, including the tool used, processing engine (browser or server), whether the operation succeeded or failed, processing duration, file sizes, and your IP address. This data is used to monitor service health, identify broken tools, and improve the Service. It is not linked to your identity unless you are logged in.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. This information is used to authenticate you, manage your account, and send transactional emails (such as password reset requests and account notifications).
Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or other payment method details. Paddle handles all payment processing and may collect additional information as described in their privacy policy.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in when you have an account. We do not use advertising cookies. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, referral sources, and device information. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use the following third-party services:
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Files uploaded for server-side processing are automatically deleted after 7 days. Shared videos are automatically deleted after their expiry period (24 hours or 7 days). Processing history records (tool used, file sizes, timestamps) are retained for service improvement but do not include the actual file content.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
