- How do I resize a video for TikTok, Reels, or Instagram?
- Drop your video in, pick the matching preset — TikTok / Reels (1080×1920), Instagram Square (1080×1080), Instagram Portrait (1080×1350), YouTube (1920×1080) — and click Process. The file comes out at exactly that size without stretching: if your clip has a different shape, it sits whole in the middle over a blurred copy of itself. To fill the frame with the picture instead, set the Resize method to Crop to fill, which trims the edges; or pick black bars as the background.
- How do I resize a video to 1080p or 720p?
- Type the target dimensions — 1920×1080 for 1080p — or pick the 720p preset, then click Process. In Fit mode (the default) the resizer scales your footage to that resolution while keeping its proportions, so downscaling 4K to 1080p stays sharp and never looks stretched. The 720p preset follows your clip: a vertical phone video comes out 720×1280 rather than squeezed into a 1280×720 box.

- Fit mode scales to the largest shape that fits inside your box without distorting, then rounds down to even dimensions for the encoder: a 1080x1920 clip asked to fit 1000x1000 comes out 562x1000, not 563x1000. Choose Add background or Crop to fill to get exactly the size you typed, rounded down to an even number.
- Can I resize a video without re-encoding it?
- No - changing the pixel dimensions means every frame is redrawn, so the video stream is always re-encoded. The audio track is passed through untouched. Use Best encoding quality when the result will be edited again.
