Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AI text-to-speech free?
Yes — you can generate speech for free with no sign-up. Free users get a limited number of generations per hour; Pro lifts the cap and unlocks longer scripts and voice cloning.
How does voice cloning work?
Upload or record a short ~10-second clip of a voice and the AI clones its timbre, then speaks your script in that voice. For the most natural pronunciation, record in the same language you'll generate. Your cloned voices are saved to a private library that only you can access or use.
How many languages are supported?
Over 600. The voice you pick or clone can speak your script in any of them — though well-resourced languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and many more) sound the most natural.
Can I add laughs or fix pronunciation?
Yes. The editor lets you drop non-verbal expressions (laugh, sigh, surprise, question) in as inline chips, and override how a specific word is pronounced using CMU phonemes (English) or pinyin with tone numbers (Chinese).
Is this a free alternative to ElevenLabs?
For the core text-to-speech and voice-cloning use case, yes — generate natural speech and clone voices with no per-character charge and no sign-up to try. ElevenLabs offers more (a large curated voice marketplace, a dubbing studio, and an API); for straightforward TTS and cloning, this is the free equivalent.
