Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use a transition overlay in my editor?: Place the overlay on a track above the cut so its brightest frame lands on the edit point, set its blend mode to Screen, and trim the ends if you want it shorter. Because the clip starts and ends on black it fades in and out by itself.
Are the transitions the same as in Premiere or CapCut?: They cover the same families — crossfade, dip to black or white, wipes, slides, circle and box reveals, slices, pixelate, blur, zoom. The names differ from app to app; the previews show exactly what each one does.
Can I download the transitions themselves?: A transition is an effect between two clips rather than a file, so it is applied online in the transition maker. The overlays are the downloadable part — drop them on any cut in any editor.
Are these free for commercial use?: Yes. The overlays were generated by us and the transitions are rendered on your own footage, so there is nothing to license and no attribution needed.
