Frequently Asked Questions

Does it look like a real watercolor or a filter?
It's generative — the AI repaints the image with actual brushstroke and pigment structure rather than overlaying a texture, so edges bleed and pool the way real watercolor does. Bold strength gives the most painterly result.
Can I print the result?
Yes — the output is a clean PNG at your original resolution, which prints well. For very large prints, run the result through our AI Image Upscaler first.
Can I watercolor only the background?
Yes. Choose 'Style only part of it' and brush the background (or use the AI selection tools) — the subject stays photographic while the background becomes a painting.
What photos work best?
Photos with clear subjects and good lighting convert best. Busy, low-light shots still work but produce a looser, more abstract painting.
