Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to remove watermarks?
Removing a watermark from content you own (e.g. your own video processed through a free-tier editor) is legal in most jurisdictions. Removing watermarks from copyrighted content you don't own may violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the content owner's terms of service. Only use this tool on content you created or have permission to edit.
What's the best preset if my watermark doesn't match?
Most competitor watermarks sit in the bottom-right corner at a similar size, so the CapCut preset works for most cases. A manual-region tool is coming soon.
How does this compare to cropping or blurring?
LaMa reconstructs the content behind the watermark from surrounding pixels, so the image keeps its original aspect ratio and composition. Cropping loses image area; blurring leaves an obvious blur patch.
