- Do the videos need to be the same resolution or format?
- No. The tool normalizes every clip to compatible settings automatically. You can combine an MP4 with an MKV, or a 1080p clip with a 720p clip.
- Can I merge many videos at once?
- Yes — add as many clips as you like. In the browser, very large batches are limited by your device's memory (roughly 800 MB of video in total). For bigger jobs, use the server processing option, or merge in batches of about ten clips and then merge those results together.
- Does combining re-encode the videos?
- Yes, all clips are re-encoded to ensure consistent codec settings and seamless playback. This means quality is very high but the process takes a moment.
- Do the clips play in the order I add them?
- Yes - the order in the file list is the order on the timeline, first to last. Reorder the list before processing. The first clip also sets the canvas size when the resolution is left on Original.
- Why is my merged video 30fps when the clips were 60fps?
- When clips have to be re-encoded to be joined - different sizes or frame rates, or a resolution you picked - everything is normalized to 30 fps. If you need the merged result at 60 fps, run it through the FPS Changer afterwards.
